Meditation and the Meridians
Meditation and the Meridians is for you if you want to understand the subtle energies of the body and use mindfulness to integrate this understanding into your health regimen.
This book was born of a project that we undertook in the tumultuous spring of 2020. After leading meditations for a year we thought we might take the meditations in the direction of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). So, a sixteen week course on the meridians reinforced by meditations was developed and delivered.
In this book, like in the course, we share a history and overview of TCM and a discussion of the 12 main meridians, and to each we add a commensurate meditation.
The distribution network called the meridian system looks like a giant web, linking different areas of our body together. Its pathways supply vital energy to every part of the body.
Meditation is part of the language of modern health. The practice has been around for millennia across many different cultures, and often shares elements with spirituality. Today, meditation is often used as an effective means of managing anxiety, stress and pain, among other chronic conditions.
Meditation and the Meridians brings together two ancient practices for modern health and mastery.
